Profiles in Lecture Capture: Creighton University Takes Doctor of Pharmacy Program Off Campus

In January 2007, 44 states and the District of Columbia reported a severe shortage of pharmacists to the National Association of Chain Drug Stores*. Anticipating the need to fill this shortage, Creighton University, which boasts one of the best pharmacy programs in the nation, decided to extend its Doctor of Pharmacy degree program to students who could not be "campus-bound", which created a need for a lecture capture system. Today, classroom activities occurring in the on-campus program are captured and delivered to distance students, resulting in a program that is the only one of its kind in the United States, and is accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education.

This webinar, the first in a series of Echo360cast: Profiles in Lecture Capture features Tracy Chapman, Executive Director of eLearning and Technology, Creighton University.  Ms. Chapman will address the successes and challenges of implementation of a distance learning program using lecture capture technology. Joined by Mark Jones, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Echo360™, Ms. Chapman will discuss:

° Addressing the need for a distance program
° Challenges faced by off-campus learners
° Criteria for the selection of a lecture capture solution
° Implementation of the technology and lesson learned
    ° Successful results to date
